Eastern Region.
By Lang Elliott with Donald and Lillian Stokes. 3 CDs.
With more than 2.5 million copies of their books sold to date ... with their new PBS television series Birdwatch with Donald and Lillian Stokes, premiering nationwide in October 1997...with their just-released audio Stokes Field Guide to Bird Songs off to a spectacular start ... Donald and Lillian Stokes are increasingly recognized and celebrated as Americas preeminent authorities on nature and birding.
The Stokeses' ingeniously organized, all-photographic, all-full-color Stokes Field Guides to Birds (Eastern and Western editions), which Little, Brown published in early 1996, have been a runaway success -- with five printings sold out and nearly a quarter million copies in print.
The pocket-size Stokes Beginner's Guides Birds (Eastern and Western editions), also to published in 1996, have been similarly successful -- and have returned to press for a total of 75,000 copies.
Now two of the Stokeses' perennially popular guidebook series are getting a new look -- and Little, Brown is embarking on a year-long marketing campaign.
