ML Knives Canoe Knife
Matt Lesniewski have been making knives for almost twenty years. Full time for a living for about 17. Starting as a hobby, Matt’s passion quickly grew into a business. Past experiences, love for the outdoors and lifetime art history lend themselves well to the design of Matt’s knives. Matt’s work has been carried in the field by many outdoors people for many years, featured in many publications as well as film & television.
Matt forges his knives mainly from 1095 high carbon steel although reclaimed carbon steel is also used on certain pieces. All of Matt’s knives are made one at a time and each are unique if looked at very closely. Many hours of work into goes into each individual piece.
Matt’s passion is for traditional style knives and materials. Loving the idea of a piece that is not only functional and beautiful but also something you can pass down to the next generation. Matt Is the owner or ML Knives and lives in upstate NY surrounded by the wilderness he loves.
The Canoe knife is an Exclusive design, for Boundary waters and each one is forged and made from 1095 high carbon steel. Many hours of work go into each piece individually, including individual heat treatment. Each has what Matt calls a pattern aged finish blade. (Hammer forge pattern)
