Having tested these pants way back when we first designed them and continued to wear them through the years I'm satisfied that our latest design is the most comfortable blend of design features and fabric available for canoe paddlers and campers today. Versatile. They help make my trips more enjoyable. Tim Stouffer, Piragis Northwoods Company, Catalog Director

I just got back from a Quetico trip. There were three pairs of this pant on the trip. Every pair ripped out above the reinforced double knee - two pairs both knees, one pair one knee. I really love everything else about the pants but there seems to be a material or design flaw. RESPONSE from Steve Piragis Our original version we have all the parameters met except the toughness. Tear outs above the knee were somewhat common although not universal. We may have had a dozen complaints of so. In the last two years we have been using a tougher fabric that still meets our criteria for feel and fast drying. We have had no complaints so far on this new version. Our #1 tester wears the pants almost year around and works in the woods. I personally wear the pant to work and on all my forays into the BWCAW and beyond with no rip outs. The nylon version that was new last year seems even lighter, faster drying and amazingly as tough.

I find it incredible that a reviewer wore through knees of these pants? I kneel when I paddle and I paddle almost every week of the YEAR. Plus, I wear them around the farm. In 3 years the only difference is they're a little softer and more comfortable. Those knees aint wearing through even under MY substantial weight. Best hunting, paddling, fishing, hiking, berry picking pants on the market IMHO? Only upgrade I'd make is to do what my wife did for me. She put elastic in the cuffs. GREAT PANTS!

Been using these pants for years, but the seams give out. Crotch split on last trip. Cloth is great, dries quick, tough, but the thread is wimpy.

Purchased a pair of these for a week-long excursion in Quetico. They held up exceptionally well and stayed comfortable for hours in the canoe and while trudging through the mud on miles of portages.
